No Yeast Doughnut Holes
1 cup milk
2tbsp caster sugar
Pinch salt
2.5 Cups Self Raising Flour
¼ cup chilled butter
1 egg
2tsp cinnamon sugar
Oil for frying
Whisk together milk & egg
In large bowl combine sugar flour Baking powder & Salt
Add the milk mixture stir till soft dough forms
Roll into a log shape & cut discs approx ½ thick from the log
Use a small cookie cutter to cut the holes
Keep the doughnut holes & cook them later
Add 2 to 3 doughnuts at a time to hot oil turning with a chopstick
About 2min each side or till golden
Use a slotted spoon to remove from oil &drain on wire racks
Sprinkle with Cinnamon sugar while still hot
Doughnuts made with Yeast
1 cup milk
14g yeast
4tbsp caster sugar
Pinch salt
2 Cups Flour
¼ cup chilled butter
1 egg
2tsp cinnamon sugar
Oil for frying
Heat milk till just warm (or if passed body temp let cool or you will kill the yeast)
Add yeast caster sugar & salt mix well
leave to stand for 15 min
Rub butter into flour till breadcrumb consistency is reached
then add caster 2tlbsn caster sugar mixing well
add the milk mixture & eggs stir till soft dough forms
Kneed for 8 min approx place in an oiled bowl cover with cling wrap & let stand for 45min in a warm place
Punch the dough to release the air
Cut into 2 a kneed again about 3min
Roll into a log shape & cut discs approx ½ thick from the log

dip in vanilla sugar to coat
